Heavy snowfalls have resulted in parts of Austria to the chaos on the roads and power failure. As reported by news agency «APA», 15 000 tourists and residents in several snow-swept mountain ski resort areas in the west of the country were cut off from the world. In some places, almost 90cm of snow fell.

 Snow masses paralyzed life in Lehi, Zurs, Shtubene, Vars and Gargellene. As a result of heavy snow, fallen trees and a high risk of avalanches were blocked roads across the country and disrupted rail service
